Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) document

As the system is ready to be handed over, a FAT meeting with the orderer is summoned. Include me in the invitation for the test even though I usually won't attend the test itself but only check the minutes of the test. Proposals for testing arrangements and record of the tests are attached with the summons for approval.

During the test, the orderer's representative writes down any anomalities or discrepancies to Comments column and signs each step of the FAT procedure with his/hers initials and date as the test proceeds. Even if the discrepancy is reasoned and the function of the system is relevant and correct in functional sense, it is commented to the record. With his/her signed comment the discrepancy (or change) is either accepted or rejected. All the rejected items must be checked and rectified immediately after the FAT and tested again. If the discrepancies call for major changes in the application a new FAT is summoned later.

As the FAT has been run succesfully the FAT records are scanned and saved to Moodle in PDF format.
